The Top Shelf Crew
Coach Doug is the founder of Top Shelf Athletics. He has been coaching in North Bay and surrounding areas since 2002 and brings excitement and the ability to motivate players to perform at their highest level.
Clint is our premiere pitching instructor. He played in the NCAA at division I Liberty University. His understanding and ability to instruct pitchers on proper mechanics makes him a sought after pitching coach in the city.
Coach Shawn is a no-nonsense coach who has the kids best interest at heart and brings a calm demeanour during practice and on the bench. He doesn't say much, but when he speaks the players listen.
Pete is new to coaching, but he has a very clear understanding of the game and he will enjoy a long coaching career. He was a player for the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers and easily relates to the players.
Pete also helps with the Top Shelf Athletics Spring Baseball program.
AJ is currently an assistant coach with the Nipissing Lakers ladies hockey team and was also a player for the North Bay Skyhawks. He is also an excellent baseball player and will be helping with the Top Shelf Athletics Spring Baseball program.
He brings lots of energy and passion to the Top Shelf team.
Mitch has been involved in coaching for years and is always willing to help local teams. He has excellent techniques when speaking with youth goaltenders and they always look forward to their time working with Mitch.
Dan is an excellent goaltending coach and brings a tremendous amount of experience. Dan is a founder of Net Drive Goaltending that has been operating in North Bay each summer. He has vast experience as a coach and as a player having played for the WHL's Calgary Hitmen and the OHL's Sarnia Sting. Dan came to North Bay to play for the Nipissing Lakers in 2010 and is currently with the Pittsburgh Penguins affiliate, Wheeling Nailers.
Dan is open to sharing his experiences as a goalie in hopes that it helps others reach their goals.
